Local Activities

Tynong North is conveniently located with a host of attractions within half an hour’s drive of The Haven.

Cannibal Creek Winery is just down the road. Nearby, Gumbuya Park is great for the kids with native and exotic animals, rides, BBQ and café (5 mins).

Bushwalking in the Bunyip State Park is only 5 minutes away. Mt Cannibal has stunning views of the ranges to the north (10 mins).

You can try Horse riding at Tonimbulk Trail Rides (15 mins).

Garfield is fast becoming a go to place for foodies with the Cannibal Creek Bakehouse specialising in sourdough bread and Impodimo Cafe and Gift shop (15 minutes away). Bunyip is another local town with a supermarket, a couple of pubs and cafes.

Visit Gembrook (20 mins) with a range of shops and cafes. The Puffing Billy railway line terminates at Gembrook.

Yarragon (40 mins) has a number of cafes and gift shops.

 


Wineries

Take a wine tour to award winning wineries such as our local Cannibal Creek vineyard (3 mins), Jinks Creek at Tonimbuk (20 mins), and further afield are Gypsy Creek, Wild Dog and Brandy Creek (up to 50 mins).


Restaurants & Cafes

There are a number of restaurants and cafes including The Independent and Forest Edge at Gembrook and Parnassus just outside Drouin (40 mins).


Food and Supplies

You can get supplies of food and wine from many of these places. Other towns in the area with food supplies include Pakenham to the west and Bunyip & Garfield to the east. Tynong is 5 mins away and has a general store for milk etc. all of the towns follow the railway line. You can call in on your way to The Haven for supplies from supermarkets at Pakenham & Bunyip.

 

The Haven is also an hour’s drive from the attractions of Phillip Island, the Yarra Valley and Melbourne.
